A customer has refrigerator and wine cooler combo built-in unit. The refrigerator side was not cooling. We connected gauges to the system and notice strange pressure behavior. The pressure was OK for some period but then just go to 0 PSI. I decide to put dye in the system to find the leak. I managed to find the freon leak on the suction line. I decide to replace heat exchanger and evaporator coil. I disassembled all refrigeration section, removed the unit from cabinet and removed lower sealed system mounting shelf. I run the new heat-exchanger line from the refrigerator to the compressor. I also replaced old evaporator coil with a new one. Also, replaced dryer filter and recharge system with new freon. I gave some recommendations to a client how to do maintenance to lower the risk of damaging components from overheating.
