A customer has Viking VGIC4856 range with the broken thermostat pin, little oven on the left not heat up at all and big right oven had late ignition. We removed racks from oven, side rack holders and heat distribution pan on the bottom. Now we had exposed components to troubleshoot and our tech determines that all igniters were out of spec and need to replace. Also, burner tube for little oven has the hole in it, which is affecting gas ignition too. For thermostat everything is pretty straightforward, Viking doesn’t offer us an option to replace just broken peace and force us to buy the whole thermostat instead. After getting the permission on repair from the customer we removed the unit from the cabinet, disassemble the hood part and removed the metal covers on the back. We install the new thermostat and run capillary sensor tube through the unit inside the oven chamber. We replaced bad burner tube with the new one and also replace all three ignitors for left and right ovens. After we put all racks, pans, metal panels, hood parts back to the unit and installed the unit back to the kitchen cabinet slot. We test all cycles for an oven, as well as temperature readings, and top burner functionality.
Another happy customer!
