The customer called us for repair of his built-in unit. The initial problem was GE Monogram refrigerator ZISS360DRGSS no cold. The owner was not doing the maintenance of the condenser coil. So the unit was working at higher temperature and pressure. This unit has a variable speed DC compressor. To convert AC power to DC it has the Inverter board. On the inverter board, there is lost of capacitors and heat sinks which are easily damageable with heat.
In this case, I offered the customer to replace the damaged inverter board and do the condenser coil cleaning.
First I open up the top grille to have access to internal components of this GE Monogram refrigerator.
Second I disconnect the unit from the power and all connectors wired to the inverter board.
Third I unscrewed the side panel and move it aside. This allowed me to have more space to replace the inverter board. I removed the old board and disconnected the wiring from the compressor.
Fourth I connected the wiring from inverter to compressor and install it. I also connected back all wiring and mounted the side panel back.
Finally, I took my nitrogen tank and blew the dust buildup from the condenser coil. Usually, I use vacuum cleaner and steamer for this, but GE condenser coil is very hard to reach and nitrogen blew up works much better. As a downside, it shoots a lot of dust out. But I cover all area with the blanket to minimize the dust mass.
This time it was a quick service call which took only 30 minutes. GE Monogram refrigerator compressor is running and problem solved now.
Another happy customer!
