A customer has built-in Sub Zero 685 unit. There was a big snow built up on the back panel in the refrigerator. We removed all shelves, light cover and back panel. The evaporator coil was completely covered with frost. We test the fan motor and temperature sensors. Everything was in scope and working fine. We decided to replace evaporator coil temperature sensor because this is a very common problem with these units. We turn off unit to perform the repair. But even after turning unit off from the panel our tech noticed that compressor for fridge side was running. We examined control board for visual failures also run diagnostics to determine if the board is OK. Control board pass all tests. Tech reset the whole system by turning off from the power source. After reset, we turn on and off the system for the several times and we did not experience similar behavior anymore. We hope this was the temporary glitch on control board and recommended to the customer to monitor temperature during the week. No call backs from him for a month so far.
Another happy customer!
